This site is to be highly commended, as without it we would not have been able to get the information required to give a peace of mind needed, for complete newcomers to canal boat holidays. British waterways should employ you immediately as their offering is dismal compared to this.

Keep up the good work. Jon and Caroline.

This software is not just a bit good - its awesome. To get a hire boat back to where it came from at the right time is a bit too hit or miss for me. I want to travel slow in mind and deed but always end up being concerned that I I wont get back in time. Your brilliant software sorts this out perfectly - although I doubt that we will actually stop for the night under a notorious Birmingham pasta junction!!! The route is clear - the turns are all listed - all we need to do is enjoy.

Thank you very much indeed for this fantastic bit of kit.

Hi Nick. Thanks for the great canal route planner. Last year (2007) I was able to get 4 weeks off from work and set off from Preston Brook via the Trent and Mersey Canal down to Birmingham. From there I used the Grand Union and Stratford Upon Avon Canals down to Stratford. The Rivers Avon and Severn took me back to Stourport and the Staffs and Worcs Canal and Shropshire Union finally returning to Preston Brook. The full cruise was planned using Canalplan which proved extremely accurate and very informative. I will use it for all future cruises. Thanks again. Tom Edwards

BTW, instructions for leaving the Severn to enter Glos Docks should be turn LEFT (right will take over a weir!!)
Keep up the good work. I've sent you some photos

Your planner has enabled me to plan, visualise, and get the Beer guide out for our trip home to her new moorings at Brinklow. Hope to be using the site alot more for all our new adventures. Thank you.
